Building Our Dream Shop!

It’s been another busy weekend at the new Checkpoint shop. With the move-in phase behind us, we’ve been deep in the next round of renovations, turning the space into something that finally feels like home. The biggest milestone this week was building the new mezzanine.

After a few long days of measuring, cutting, and framing, the upper level started to take shape. It’s already changing the whole vibe of the shop, adding storage space and a great vantage point over the cars. Once the drywall went up, it all started to feel real.  We also unboxed a few long-awaited packages from Japan filled with parts, old memorabilia, and other treasures for upcoming builds and videos. There’s nothing better than cutting open boxes covered in Japanese shipping tape and seeing what’s inside.

The best part of the weekend was having friends drop by to hang out, lend a hand, and see the progress. Between the sound of drills and the smell of sawdust, there was plenty of catching up, laughter, and car talk. The mezzanine is nearly done, the shop is coming alive, and we’re more excited than ever for what’s next.
