Mountain Drifting II.
Considering we’ve spent the last few weeks busy trying to take care of the last steps importing our van and planning our next Checkpoint event, we decided it was time to blow off some steam and film a follow-up to the original Mountain Drifting video we produced late last year. So, without too much preplanning, we headed off to the mountains and jumped right in.
With the surprisingly bad May weather finally beginning to change for the good, we decided to spend some time going drifting with Stefan and Mikey (who are no strangers to the channel). We had the perfect day to shoot some footage: awesome weather, cars running great, and no one around (other than some overly excited campfire enjoyers).
Sitting high above sea level, we had endless choices for corners, some wildlife spectators, and a backdrop that featured some beautiful snowy mountains as a cherry on top. Stefan and Mikey are perfect examples of those who understand the sentiments that Checkpoint gets excited about. They both have a perfect blend of low-car style and the mentality of ‘free your active spirit’. Like always, it was cool seeing two very different cars navigate some complex corners in their very unique ways. Both Stefan and Mikey possess a ton of driver skill, and it shines when we go out and produce these videos.
