We Took Our G35 Street Drifting.

We were all set to kick off our first drift event of 2025 at a skid pad in Bellingham, excited to finally get our G35 sideways in a controlled setting. But as luck would have it, Mother Nature had other plans. At the last minute, we got word that the track was covered in snow and ice—far from ideal conditions for a proper drift session. With our plans up in the air, we had a choice: call it quits or find another way to get some seat time.

Not ones to waste a good opportunity, we decided to switch gears and hit up some quiet industrial areas instead. This was a blessing in disguise, as it gave us the perfect chance to get Jake back behind the wheel. It had been a long time since he last drifted—his last proper session ended in a crash with his JZX90 at Mission Raceway in 2021. Understandably, he had been hesitant to get back into it, but this was the perfect low-pressure environment to shake off the rust.

With some coaching and a little encouragement, Jake eased into it, and before long, he was initiating with the e-brake and holding an extended slide. It was awesome to see him find his rhythm again, pushing past the mental barrier that had kept him from drifting for the past few years.

While the day didn’t go as originally planned, it turned out to be a great session in its own way. The G35 held up, the vibes were solid, and most importantly, Jake got his groove back. A strong start to the year—even if it wasn’t exactly how we imagined it.
